Le caramelle polo ed i bambini

Chi non ha mai provato le caramelle Polo, quelle che una volta la reclàme chiamava il “buco con la menta intorno”? Beh, l’altro giorno mi hanno girato una barzelletta in inglese che ha come protagoniste queste mentine e dei bambini delle elementari. All’inizio avevo pensato di tradurla in italiano, ma mi sono poi reso conto che il finale era praticamente intraducibile (si accettano suggerimenti, in caso) e che non avrebbe reso alla stessa maniera. Così ho deciso di proporla in versione originale nel mio angolino sul corso d’inglese per principianti. Buon divertimento 🙂

A teacher was doing a study testing the senses of her students. The first test was “taste”. She gave them five different flavoured Polo and asked them to identify the taste of each. The children began to identify the flavours by their color:

• Red, Cherry
• Yellow, Lemon
• Green, Lime
• Orange, Orange

Finally, the teacher gave them all honey Polos. But none of the children could identify the taste. The teacher said, “I will give a clue. It’s what your mother may sometimes call your father” One little girl looked up in horror, spit her Polo out and yelled, “Oh my God! They’re ass-holes!”
